Julie Swayze managed to get Metropolis Books open at 440 S. Main Street in time for the recent holidays. She even managed to host a grand opening party—with the help of the Valley Economic Development Corp.—that drew several authors who mingled with customers and signed copies of their work. That holiday buzz was fun while it lasted, but now it’s time to get back to everyday business. All the better at Metropolis Books, where the floor plan runs well back from bustle and noise on Main Street and an understated décor provides a nice atmosphere for perusing the wide of array of titles. And don’t worry about missing the book signing at the grand opening. Swayze is an author herself, with several mystery stories in print. She has them in stock at Metropolis Books, of course, so you can get a signed copy anytime.
