Irantzu Pujadas is a new face on the staff of 14th District Los Angeles City Councilmember Jose Huizar, serving as his deputy for Downtown and the El Pueblo Historical Monument, home to Olvera Street. Pujadas is a graduate of Cal State Northridge who recently shifted to City Hall after spending several years as a journalist, with experience at Telemundo, KCET, and Eastern Group Publications, which publishes a number of weekly community newspapers that cover the Eastside and nearby cities. Pujadas says she sees a great future for Downtown, adding that there’s still plenty of work to do, especially now that her boss is busy with plans for a renovation of the streetscape on Broadway and hopeful of seeing a trolley car serve the area sometime in the future. The Garment & Citizen welcomes Pujadas to Downtown, and we wish her the best as she seeks to do her part to help Huizar move his plans forward.
