Felipe Alarcon finds a lot to like about his life. He likes people. He likes to work. He likes to ride his bicycle. No wonder Alarcon likes working as a delivery person for the New York City Deli on the 900 block of S. Los Angeles Street, a job that gives him the opportunity ride his bicycle around the neighborhood and meet all kinds of folks who work at many different jobs. Alarcon is a native of Puebla, Mexico, and he grew up in the Boyle Heights district east of Downtown. He says he’s always considered the Fashion District to be an interesting place because it is home to so many businesses that depend on design. Alarcon has some designs of his own—he says he hopes to one day have his own interior design business. He’s even set up a small studio, and is working to put together a portfolio of his design ideas and art. The Garment & Citizen wishes Alarcon the best as he designs his future.
