Walter Melton is a lot of things—Skid Row resident, everyday worker, blogger, former Ivy Leaguer, and not a bad tennis player, either. The native of Leimert Park is more than all of that, too, because he recently signed on to work with several local community newspapers on contributions to a special project that’s currently under development and expected to launch on the Internet in coming weeks. We’ll provide more details in future editions, and Melton can answer any questions from the folks he meets as he covers the various territories of Downtown. Meanwhile, don’t be surprised if you see him with a camera, asking folks to talk a little bit about their own lives for awhile. He’s been doing just that for his Scribeskidrow blog on Internet for the past year, and he’ll be doing even more now. So get ready for a new perspective on our city as Melton gets ready for his latest challenge in life.
