Roberto Jordan knows how to finish a job. That’s what the native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, does every day at Jose Grading Service, where he uses computer-aided-design (CAD) to digitize patterns for the latest styles coming out of the Fashion District. Jordan thanks his boss, Jose Ramirez, for teaching him those skills. He’s got some other teachers these days, too, because he’s studying for his diploma from Garfield High School. Jordan first arrived to the U.S. as a 14-year-old, but his high school education ended when his family had to go back to Guatemala for a few years. He later returned to Los Angeles and started working, waiting for a chance to resume his high school studies. Jordan doesn’t plan to stop there, either. He says he wants to go on to college, with hopes of studying more about computers, or perhaps psychology. The Garment & Citizen wishes Jordan the best on whatever path he chooses.
